How to bleach:

Do a strand test before applying full head. Make sure your hair is dry and combed. Protect your clothing and wear gloves. Mix bleach with developer in a plastic, ceramic, or glass bowl. Do not use a metal bowl or utensil as this can cause stains and affect the bleach. Stir until there are no lumps and the mixture is smooth. Divide the hair down the middle into two sections, then divide into four sections. Two sections at the top and two at the bottom. Using a brush, start at the back where the hair is thickest and work your way into small sections from the roots to the downward trend. Make sure each section is fully covered. Allow the bleach to sit for 20-30 minutes if you are using the 30 vol developer or 30-40 minutes if you are using the 20 vol developer.

The bleach may heat up and the scalp may tingle, this is normal. Rinse hair thoroughly with cold water, making sure all product has been washed out. If you want to color your hair immediately after bleaching, do not use conditioner so that the color absorbs better and lasts longer.
